Admissions

Howadmission to Halo Ridge works

Scroll to explore

Every enquiry starts as a confidential conversation. Nothing is decided before we understand the situation, and nothing is promised that we cannot deliver.

The process

What are the steps to admission?

There are four steps: a confidential enquiry, an intake conversation, a shared decision about fit and timing, then arrival and planning.

  1. 01

    Confidential enquiry

Call or send a message. We listen first: what is happening, what has already been tried, and what feels most urgent right now.

  2. 02

    Intake conversation

A structured intake conversation covering substance use, mental health, trauma history, health considerations, and current safety.

  3. 03

    Fit and timing

We decide together whether residential programming here is appropriate, and when. If a different level of support fits better, we say so.

  4. 04

    Arrival and planning

Practicalities: travel to the Comox Valley, what to bring, how family contact works, and the first days of the plan.

Frequently asked questions

Answers for families and referring professionals

Who is Halo Ridge for?
Adults who are looking for residential support for substance use, trauma, and related distress or burnout, and who are suited to a non-medical residential setting. Suitability is confirmed through our intake conversation.
What should families expect before, during, and after a stay?
Before: an honest conversation and an intake conversation. During: a structured residential program with regular program work, and family involvement where the person consents to it. After: a transition plan connecting to ongoing supports in the community.
How long is a typical stay?
Length of stay is individualized and discussed during admissions. Residential programs of this kind commonly run from several weeks to a few months, depending on individual need and progress.
What is the admissions process?
It begins with a confidential enquiry by phone or through our contact form. From there we arrange an intake conversation and discuss whether residential programming at Halo Ridge is the right fit. If it is, we plan timing, arrival, and what to bring.
Do you coordinate with other providers?
Yes. With consent, we work alongside physicians, therapists, counsellors, and referring professionals already involved, and we share information only with permission.
What does it cost?
Halo Ridge is a private program. Fees depend on length of stay and the program plan, and are discussed transparently during admissions before any commitment is made.
How quickly can someone be admitted?
Timing depends on the intake conversation and availability. We will always tell you honestly what is realistic, and we do not hold a place open vaguely.
Is the program confidential?
Confidentiality is central to how the property and the process are designed. Information is shared only with the person's consent, other than where staff are legally required to act.

Physicians, therapists, counsellors, and employers’ support programs can contact us directly to discuss suitability for a client. With consent, we coordinate support before, during, and after a stay. Contact admissions.

Halo Ridge Recovery is a private residential recovery program. We are not a hospital, medical facility, or licensed treatment centre. We do not provide medical care, detox or withdrawal management, prescribing, or diagnosis. Where those services are needed, we can help connect you with a third-party provider so support starts sooner rather than later.
