Background

Alex's work here

Alex is a Support Worker at Halo Ridge Recovery, where he helps people feel safe, respected, and genuinely supported through the daily work of healing. He brings more than seven years of personal recovery, together with deep experience in frontline support, recovery coaching, nonprofit building, podcasting, and the design of recovery-focused technology.

His path into this work is lived, not theoretical. Having rebuilt his own life after addiction, Alex understands how much courage it takes to ask for help, and how much steadiness it takes to keep going. That experience shapes the way he shows up: calm, present, and unwilling to reduce anyone to their worst day.

Beyond the house, Alex has helped create nonprofit recovery initiatives, coached people through early and ongoing recovery, and hosted The Pulse of Addiction, a conversation-driven podcast that brings lived experience together with the voices of recovery leaders and specialists. He also builds digital tools that make aftercare, structure, and connection easier to sustain once the program ends.

At Halo Ridge, Alex is part of the rhythm of daily life. He supports clients through the ordinary and the difficult moments, works closely with the wider support team, and helps hold a private, restorative environment where people can do real work without being rushed or overlooked. His aim is simple and serious: that every person who arrives here feels met, protected, and capable of lasting change.
